From Concept to Tangible: Sa Le Glass Board Divider

Ideation

Sa Le Glass Board Divider was born from our desire to maximize the function of a whiteboard for smaller dynamic offices that did not have the wall space to feature a traditional white board. We began by researching existing designs and was largely inspired by how Springboard was able to make their glass boards beautifully work as also mobile partitions. 

စိတ်ကူးပုံဖော်ခြင်း

စလေ Glass Board Divider ဟာ သေးငယ်ပြီး အခန်းတွေကန့်ဖို့ Whiteboard ချိတ်ရန် နေရာကျယ်ကျယ်ဝန်းဝန်းမရှိသော ရုံးခန်းငယ်များအတွက် တစ်ချက်ခုတ် နှစ်ချက်ပြတ် ပစ္စည်းထုတ်လုပ်ပေးချင်တဲ့ ဆန္ဒကနေဖြစ်ပေါ်လာတာပါ။ ဒီဇိုင်းသုတေသနပြုလုပ်နေရင်း Springboard ကနေ ရွေ့ပြောင်းရလွယ်ကူတဲ့ မှန်သားချပ် Divider တွေကို မြင်ပြီး အမြင်လဲလှ စာရေးခြစ်နိုင်တဲ့ Glass Board Divider ပြုလုပ်ဖို့အကြံရခဲ့ပါတယ်။

Prototyping & Pivoting 

The silhouette was refined to its simplest form -- a glass board (in multiple colors, of course) with sleek legs. We wanted to get the largest possible writing space without compromising its strength for the rigors of commercial use. After creative deep dives with our design consultant, Ko Myo Thaw, we opted for a beautifully curved wooden support that would securely hold markers. The Sa Le Glass Board Divider went through several design stages and re-prototyping because of its unique form and versatility.

We wanted to achieve many things, but to actualize Sa Le into its final form was another matter. Our first prototype featured a smaller glass board with a thicker frame. We needed to gauge how much weight of the glass the wooden structure could actually hold. Once we figured out the physics, we decided to add a few craftsmen details that would elevate the look to a contemporary sophistication -- like narrowing of the arc or embedding whiteboard marker holders in the arch with a metal touch.

စမ်းသပ်ပြုလုပ်ခြင်း

စလေရဲ့အရိုးရှင်းဆုံးပုံရိပ်က အရောင်းအသွေးရွေးချယ်လို့ရတဲ့ မှန်သားပြင်နဲ့ သေးသွယ်ရှင်းလင်းတဲ့ခြေထောက်တွေပါ။ စာရေးလို့ရတဲ့နေရာကို တတ်နိုင်သမျှ အများဆုံးဖြစ်စေချင်ပြီး ဒီ့အတွက်လည်း ခိုင်မာတဲ့ဖွဲ့စည်းပုံကို ထိခိုက်တာမျိုးလဲမဖြစ်စေချင်ပါဘူး။ ဆယ့်ခြောက်ကိုးဆယ့်ခြောက်ရဲ့ ဒီဇိုင်းအကြံပေး ကိုမျိုးသော်နဲ့ သေချာဆွေးနွေးတိုင်ပင်ပြီးတဲ့အခါမှာ လှပစွာကွေးထားတဲ့ သစ်သားခြေထောက်နဲ့လုပ်မယ်ဆို ဆုံးဖြတ်ခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။ စလေဒီဇိုင်းရဲ့ ခြေထောက်ဟာ ဒီဇိုင်းပေါင်းများစွာနဲ့ စမ်းသပ်ပြုလုပ်ခဲ့ပြီးမှ နောက်ဆုံးမြင်တွေ့ရတဲ့ ပုံစံကို ရရှိခဲ့တာပါ။

စလေနဲ့ပတ်သက်ပြီး အများကြီးပြုလုပ်ချင်ပေမဲ့ လက်တွေ့အကောင်အထည်ဖော်တဲ့အခါ အခက်အခဲတွေရှိခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ပထမဆုံး အစမ်းထုတ်လုပ်တဲ့ စလေ Glass Board Divider ဟာဆိုရင် မှန်သားပြင်ကသေးပြီး ခြေထောက်က နည်းနည်းပိုကြီးပါတယ်။ သစ်သားခြေထောက်က မှန်ရဲ့အလေးချိန်ကို နိုင်မနိုင်စမ်းကြည့်ဖို့ လိုအပ်နေတာကြောင့်ပါ။ စလေရဲ့နောက်ကွယ်က ရူပဗေဒဆိုင်ရာကိစ္စတွေကို ဖြေရှင်းအပြီးမှာ လက်မှုပညာပိုင်ဆိုင်ရာ အသေးစိတ်လေးတွေကို လိုက်ထည့်ပါ တယ် — မှန်ကို ထောက်ကန်ထားတဲ့ သစ်ခြေထောက်ရဲ့အကွေးကို ပါးလိုက်တာမျိုး၊ Whiteboard Marker တင်ထားနိုင်ဖို့ အချိုင့်ထည့်တာမျိုးလေးတွေပါ။

Good design never really ends.

We are utterly satisfied with Sa Le’s transformation. With design, the process really never ends, because good design is a continuous evolution that changes with better materials, technology, evolving cultures, expectations, and everyday habits. For now, Sa Le is our stunningly modern Glass Board that aims to be a compelling staple in your workspace.
